A flat price, and the same crew at both ends

The quote covers loading, the drive, delivery and setup. We never hand your things to another company partway.

Included

  • A walk-through, in person or on video, for anything bigger than a one-bedroom
  • Your load alone on the truck, never consolidated
  • The crew that loaded you unloads you
  • Full-value protection, included on every long-distance move

Not included

  • Moves outside the Midwest
  • Cars, boats and motorcycles

From the walk-through to the last box

A long move takes more planning than a local one. Here's who does what, and when.

2-day
  1. Walk-through

    Three to six weeks before

    • We: Karin or Dan walks through every room, in person or on video, and sends a flat written quote within a day. A studio or one-bedroom can be quoted from a list.
    • You: Show us the attic, the basement and the garage; anything we don't see isn't in the price.
  2. Loading day

    One day

    • We: Wrap, load and inventory every piece, and give you a copy of the list.
    • You: Keep documents, medications and valuables with you.
  3. Delivery

    Inside your 2-day window

    • We: Call the day before with an arrival time, then unload and set up room by room.
    • You: Check items off the inventory as they come in.

What sets the price of a long move

The quote is flat, so you know the total before you book. These four things decide it.

  • How much you're moving

Rooms and large furniture set the truck space and the crew size.

  • Distance

Miles set the fuel and the days on the road.

  • Access at both ends

Stairs, elevators and long walks to the truck add time.

  • Packing

Packing yourself saves the most. We can pack only the kitchen and the fragile rooms.

Most two-bedroom moves within 500 miles come to $3,200 to $4,800.

Harlow to Des Moines in one truck

“Same three guys loaded us on Tuesday and unloaded us on Thursday, 400 miles away. Every box on their list showed up, and the price was the one on the contract.”

Before you move past the county line

When will my things arrive?

Inside the 2-day delivery window written in your contract. The crew lead calls the day before with a time.

How far do you go?

Anywhere in the Midwest. For farther moves, call and we'll recommend a carrier we trust.

Can you store my things between homes?

Yes, in our heated Harlow warehouse. The first month is half price with a long-distance move.

Delivered in your window, or $100 off for each day late. If the truck reaches your new home after the 2-day window in your contract, we take $100 off the bill for every day it's late. Storms and road closures are the only exceptions.
