Dan Lindqvist started Northline with one truck in 1987. His daughter Karin has run it since 2006.
Why we write every quote down
Dan spent his first years in the business hearing the same story from customers: a mover quoted one price on the phone and raised it once the truck was loaded. So Northline's rule from the first day was a written quote, and that quote is binding.
We stay small enough to keep it. Every crew has a lead with at least 300 moves behind them, and we only hire movers we can keep busy year round, so the people who start with us stay.
Karin took over in 2006 and added the Harlow warehouse and the long-distance trucks. Dan still comes in most mornings to check the trucks before they leave.
